Spring Graduation

Graduation is scheduled for May 17th at 10am at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church in room 107. Come celebrate our 6 graduates and the many volunteers that make this program possible.

Spring Semester Currently in Session

Classes began February 19th and go until May 1st. Graduation is scheduled for May 17th from 10am-12pm. We currently have 6 ladies enrolled in the program.

Volunteer Needs

LifeSteps Training is looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:

Internship Developer-help develop the internship program. Contact local business to assist in creating new internship opportunities for LifeSteps participants. This volunteer position requires 5 hours a week.
Mentors-Mentoring is one of the components that makes LifeSteps unique. Our desire is to make each woman who comes through the program with a mentor. A mentor is NOT a counselor, taxi cab driver, baby-sitter, or financial supporter. The role of the mentor is to just serve as additional support. Prayer with your mentee and help her work towards her personal and career goals. Anyone interested in learning more about mentoring should contact lifestepstraining@yahoo.com. Training is required.

"One-the-job Training"

This fall, LifeSteps launched a new “on-the-job” training component to the participants so that they can gain valuable real world job experience.

The most recent fall graduates completed their "on-the-job" training component at various local elementary schools and non-profit organizations.

LifeSteps is in need of local employers who will allow a program participant to work for 40 hours at their business in order to demonstrate their job skills in a supportive workplace environment. Employers are not required to pay the participants a salary; instead, LifeSteps will pay the participant a stipend upon successful completion of 40 hours of training. LifeSteps will also provide a job coach to follow each partipant’s progress on the job site.
